Additional Module for Gradiometer Configuration

This extra QuSpin QTFM Gen-2 sensor allows equipping an existing MagNIMBUS system with a gradiometer setup (dual sensor).

The gradiometric setup measures the difference in the magnetic field between two sensors, which offers major advantages in airborne magnetic surveying.

Why switch to a gradiometer?

Adding the second sensor allows:

• ✅ Simplification of data processing

• ✅ Elimination of the need for a magnetic base station in most cases

• ✅ Better tolerance to variations in the Earth's magnetic field

• ✅ Ability to work near electromagnetic sources (e.g., power lines)

• ✅ Improved contrast of local anomalies

This setup is especially recommended for:

• UXO search

• Detection of metal infrastructures

• Surveys in electromagnetically disturbed environments

Integration with the MagNIMBUS system

The sensor integrates into the existing system by:

• Installation on the mast designed for the gradiometer setup

• Connection to the SkyHub (data logger)

• Use with UgCS Expert

• Compatible with processing via Geosoft Oasis Montaj

The sensor is identical to the main model used in the system:
QuSpin QTFM Gen-2 atomic total-field magnetometer sensor.
