The DJI AP1 parachute enhances the safety of automated operations with the DJI Matrice 5TD and DJI Dock 4. It works with the drone’s integrated flight termination system (FTS) and can be triggered automatically or manually, including from DJI FlightHub 2.

If deployed, it limits the descent speed to less than 6 m/s for a drone at its maximum takeoff mass of 3,050 g. The automatic deployment response time is 600 ms, and the minimum effective deployment altitude is 35 m. It continuously checks the status of the gas generator and connections, with alerts in DJI FlightHub 2.

Lightweight (107 g), it attaches to the top of the drone using the included Matrice 5TD accessory mount, on its own or alongside the AL2D spotlight and AS2D speaker. Rated IP55, it operates from -40 °C to 50 °C.
